CALIFORNIA DREAMING + GENERAL STORE

In preparation for our next USA trip, I'm compiling an epic list of new spaces to visit & old favourites that need re-visiting. Top of my retail list is...General Store (Venice Beach & San Francisco).

Both stores are expertly curated with an interesting selection of vintage wares & hand made goods from local artisans. Plus the interior fit outs look amaaazing!?

It's going to be difficult to leave without a plant purchase...dang customs restrictions!

Any other places I should be visiting?

Outerlands is in SF and amazing! Also, check out Nopa while you're there. And Burma Superstar if you have never tried burmese food! It's right across the street from a very cute store Park Life. I think Painted Bird is the best vintage store in SF.

In LA, General Store is right next to Wurstküche which is a fun beer hall/german sausage restuarant and Baby Blues BBQ which is excellent. In Venice, don't miss Intelligencia coffee and Gjelina.I think the best burger I've ever had has been from Plan Check in West LA. Melrose Trading post is a fun flea market every Sunday in LA, and Creatures of Comfort is a really beautiful store as well.

let me know if you need any more reccos for either city!
